On November 4, 2026 the Bluetooth SIG adopted High Data Throughput, an optional Core 7.0 feature that lifts the Bluetooth LE ceiling from 2 Mbps to 7.5 Mbps. The SIG says it needs a new radio and puts standardized premium audio in 2027. The 7.5 Mbps mode stays optional even on devices that have HDT.
